Empowering Women Through Strength Training Apparel and Education

Our Mission

The BarBELLE Initiative exists to make lifting more accessible and less intimidating for women and girls. Too often, strength training is gatekept by outdated body standards and gym culture. We’re here to change that by creating community, funding education, and offering apparel that represents strength and confidence.

We are a strength training apparel brand with purpose. Every design is meant to inspire women to own their space in the gym. Every purchase helps fund coaching, scholarships, and resources that give more women the chance to start lifting.

For generations, women were told fitness was about being smaller. We believe strength is the standard. By challenging harmful narratives and showing that weightlifting builds both power and confidence, we’re helping women and girls step into a new definition of strength.

Cassie Anglin is the founder of The BarBELLE Initiative, an Olympic weightlifter, coach, and advocate for strength training for women. After years of struggling with body image and the pressure to make herself smaller, she discovered weightlifting — and with it, a new source of confidence and resilience.

Her journey inspired the creation of The BarBELLE Initiative, a brand and movement dedicated to building weightlifting confidence, breaking harmful fitness narratives, and empowering the next generation of girls in sports.

Through bold apparel, accessible education, and community support, Cassie’s vision is clear: fitness isn’t about shrinking — it’s about taking up space, building strength, and helping women step fully into their power.
